NODUSPLAY
Guide to publishing your game
Last updated: 2026-10-19
Publishing on NodusPlay is free and takes a few minutes. Here is the whole path, from your account to what happens after review. Your game page showcases it and sends people to your official page (for example itch.io, Steam or your own site).
Before you start
- If you do not have a game yet and want to make one with the help of an AI, start with Your first game with AI, step by step.
- You need a NodusPlay account and to be at least 14. You may be asked to verify your email before sending a game for review.
- Your game must already be playable or downloadable from an official channel of yours (your itch.io page, Steam, your site, a store…). Links to unauthorised copies, cracks or third-party downloads are not accepted. If your game is big, see Where to host your game.
- If the game is someone else's and you only want to recommend it, do not publish it as yours: use "Propose a game" (below).
1. Create your studio
In the Creator space enter your studio name (or your own), a short description and, if you like, your website. It is what people will see on your public page. You can change the logo and banner from your profile settings.
2. Prepare what you will need
- Cover: a 16:9 image (JPEG, PNG or WebP) at least 640 pixels wide. NodusPlay crops it to 16:9 and optimises it, so use a clear image without borders or frames. Cards show it cropped at the sides: do not put text or logos against the edges, and leave the game title out of the image (the card already writes it).
- A title and a short summary (shown on cards), plus a full description.
- The official link where the game is played or bought, and any extra links you want (demo, Steam page, your site…).
- One to three categories, the platforms and, if you like, tags and highlight chips. With tags, your game appears in more searches and filters.
- Whether it is single-player or multiplayer, the system requirements (optional) and, if you announce it before launch, the release date and pre-order.
- If the game uses artificial intelligence (assisted or generative), you declare it. It is a house rule and people can filter by it.
3. Send it for review
- Fill in "Publish a game" and press "Send for review", or save it as a draft and finish later from "Your games".
- A team member reviews every game before it is published: that the links work and are official, that the content follows the rules and that what you say about the game is true. We do not promise a specific time.
- If something is wrong, the game is marked "Needs changes" and you will see the reason in "Your games". Fix it and send it again.
- If your game can be played in the browser, you can offer "Play here" (checked during review).
4. After publishing
- Post updates (versions, patches, new stages): people who follow your game or studio get a notification, within the notification limits each person chooses.
- Check your statistics: visits, "Play now" clicks, favourites, wishlist, comments and reviews.
- Reply to comments and keep the page up to date. Games that are updated and have good tags and cover art are easier to find.
- If you change something important in a published game, it may be reviewed again.
- You can remove a game from your profile or withdraw it at any time.
If someone else brought your game
Anyone can propose a game to the catalogue, always with a link to the author's official page. If it is yours, open its page and press "Claim": you put a code on your official itch.io page to prove you are the author and the page moves to your account, with everything it already had. It is free.
